Donor Spotlight: Rebecca Frye

This spring, we formalized our group of incredible monthly givers and launched The Key! Since 2016, Rebecca Frye has been a monthly supporter of Miriam’s House. She first learned about our organization when her son attended our neighbor nonprofit, Elizabeth’s Early Learning Center, and immediately connected with the mission and work of Miriam’s House. We sat down to chat with Rebecca to learn more about her commitment to our work through her monthly gifts.

Miriam’s House (MH): There are so many great nonprofits in the community. Tell us What made you choose to support Miriam’s House?

Rebecca Frye (RF): I believe that safety and security are critical factors to people having the ability to grow and live a fulfilled life. I believe that housing is a basic human right and that everyone should have the opportunity of a home. I was initially motivated to give when I learned about the trauma of homelessness on children and how Miriam’s House steps in to mitigate this trauma by providing homes for homeless families.

MH: Why do you choose to give monthly?

RF: Every month I feel connected to the work of Miriam’s House when I see my donation go to them. I know that monthly donations give stability to an organization and that the faster I can get money to Miriam’s House, the faster that money can go to help someone in need.

MH: Anything else you like to share with the broader COMMUNITY to inspire them to join The Key?

RF: Monthly giving is so incredibly easy and it provides an opportunity for all of us to live out our values on a regular basis!

When not helping to end homelessness in Lynchburg, Rebecca can be found working at L3Harris, spending time outdoors, and traveling with her husband, Nick, and son, Ian.
