Welcome New Board Members!

We are incredibly proud to welcome two new board members to our Board of Directors—Mary Stuart Battle and Linda Hall.

Mary StuarT Battle

Born in Richmond, VA, Mary Stuart originally moved to Lynchburg to join her husband as a faculty member at Virginia Episcopal School in the early ‘90s after graduating from the University of Virginia. Twenty years, five moves, and three children later, the Battles returned to Lynchburg to live and work at VES. During that time, in addition to serving as “chief Mom on campus”, Mary Stuart headed up International Admissions at the school, recruiting students and developing relationships with families around the world. Currently she works as a seasonal reader of International applications at the University of Richmond.

“Since returning to Lynchburg in 2010, I have been aware of the important work being done by Miriam’s House and have watched its impact on the Lynchburg community grow. I’m delighted to be able to roll up my sleeves and work alongside dedicated staff and board members to continue to address significant needs in the city.”

Linda Hall

Linda is the Director of Human Resources at the University of Lynchburg. Linda loves helping others and looks for ways to improve the community. She is an active member of her church and enjoys cooking, walking, and spending time with her family.

“After researching the work of Miriam’s House and reading the client testimonials, I knew that joining the board was an opportunity that I could not pass up. I am excited to join the Miriam’s House family!”

These two newest members join an exceptional group of community members dedicating their time and expertise to our Board of Directors.
