Sarah Quarantotto, MSW
In 2010, Sarah joined Miriam’s House as the Clinical Director, after working for a number of years in the Lynchburg area with local social service and mental health agencies. In 2012, Sarah accepted the Executive Director position and has immensely appreciated the opportunity to lead an organization with such a rich history of empowering families made vulnerable by homelessness. She has a Master's of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from Liberty University.
Tashama Carter, MA
Tashama joined Miriam's House in February 2017 with over 11 years of providing mental health services in the Lynchburg area. She has worked in the areas of family coaching, intensive in home services, and as a case manager for permanent supportive housing where she worked to house homeless persons. Tashama possesses a Master of Arts in Human Services and a Bachelor's in Sociology and Anthropology from Randolph College. Tashama is passionate about empowering individuals to reach their full potential.
Denise started work at Miriam’s House in 1999 as a relief staff employee. She quickly advanced to her current position as Operations Manager. On most evenings, Denise can be found at Miriam's House working to ensure that all our residents are provided with a safe, clean and welcoming home. Before Miriam’s House she lived in Richmond where she attended Virginia Commonwealth University and Flair School of Cosmetology. One of the things that Denise appreciates about Miriam’s House is that it is a constant reminder to be thankful to God for today and to take nothing for granted.
Kristen Nolen, MSW
Director of Housing Services
Kristen joined Miriam’s House in March 2013. Kristen has over ten years of social work experience with low-income women and children in a variety of settings. Most recently, she coordinated the provision of social work services for Centra’s Women’s and Children’s Services division. Previously, Kristen advanced social change efforts through her work at the Public Welfare Foundation, a national funder of organizations seeking social and economic justice for vulnerable populations. Her program areas included Criminal & Juvenile Justice and Human Rights. Kristen possesses a Master’s of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s of Social Work and Bachelor’s of Interdisciplinary Social Sciences from James Madison University.
Judi joined Miriam’s House as the Finance Manager in 2012. She is excited to be a part of an organization that has such a positive impact on women’s lives. Before joining the non-profit arena, Judi worked in both corporate and public accounting. She has an Bachelor's of Science in Accounting from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. When not working, Judi enjoys volunteering in her children’s schools and in the community. She also enjoys gardening and photography.
