EQUAL ACCESS TO SERVICES POLICY
Miriam’s House does not discriminate. Beyond meeting the specified admission criteria, no person shall be denied services or shelter at Miriam’s House on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sexual orientation, religion, or other unlawful basis.
Miriam's House does not provide emergency housing. All applicants are referred by Coordinated Homeless Intake and Access (CHIA), located at Lynchburg Redevelopment and Housing Authority, based upon their assessed barriers to housing attainment.
Applicants for both programs must first and foremost meet the federal definition of homelessness as described in the HEARTH Act.
